In 1990, I joined The Starr Group selling Auto and Home insurance on straight commission, just to feed myself. I later shifted focus to Commercial Insurance to support a growing family and have been managing risk for businesses since then. I hold Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations. I understand the fine print of insurance policies and am able to offer risk solutions to protect my clients. Over the years I found that I tend to build insurance programs for my clients as if I were protecting my own business. The Starr Group is an insurance/risk management agency with the capabilities of advising clients on everything from their business insurance, including group health, to personal insurance. We also provide assistance in HR compliance, loss control, DOT compliance and executive coaching.In aligning with C-Suite professionals in construction and manufacturing, I help reduce costs and improve productivity, EBITDA and ownership valuation by finding and attacking the financial leakage that exists inside their business model and operation. As a board member on the Waukesha Area Safety Council, I help coordinate quality speakers, arrange plant tours and invite Safety and HR personnel to our meetings. I served as President of Milwaukee/NARI and The Milwaukee/NARI Foundation. I spearheaded the development of a Strategic Plan for the chapter. In 2007 we introduced The Starr Group Insurance Program for Milwaukee/NARI members. This program provides broad coverage for contractors, including Mold and Errors and Omissions coverage. We structured it so that the insurance company donates 1-2% of the premiums back to the Milwaukee/NARI Foundation, funding scholarships for the trades in southeast WI.
