    As of March 2017, DISH Network acquired EchoStar Technologies from EchoStar. My role, responsibilities, and my entire team has transferred directly over to DISH Network. EchoStar originally split from DISH in 2008. While separate companies, a majority of my efforts at EchoStar were supporting DISH Network.As the Director of RF & OEM Engineering, I continue to oversee all RF designs from component level to OEM products for DISH Network. These areas encompass set top box internal designs, satellite antennas, LNBFs, satellite signal distribution, remote controls as well as OTA ATSC reception, commercial signal distribution, and various wireless networking accessories. In addition, we continue to support various international customers for satellite video distribution systems.My team continues to implement a broad variety of RF technology across a range of consumer electronic products. We design satellite QPSK/8PSK/OTA/ATSC/QAM front ends, MOCA radios and networks, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac MIMO wireless radios, 802.15.4 RF4CE radios, and 802.15.1 Bluetooth radios. From the OEM aspect, we specify, evaluate and approve satellite/OTA antennas, LNBFs, satellite switches, MOCA networking accessories, WiFi/QAM/ATSC USB dongles, and remote controls utilizing RF4CE/Bluetooth. For all products, we maintain an internal engineering lab to evaluate and perform validation testing with Labview automation including thermal, stress, and other environmental testing.With the acquisition by DISH, we are expanding our roles into Narrow Band IOT aka NB-IOT to support DISH Network's wireless spectrum network. Given our experience with consumer electronics, we are engaging in UE aka 'User Equipment' designs of multiple products.

Provided review of the problem down to review of RU schematics, OEM engineering analysis, test results, and corrective action proposals. Technology study of ATSC 3.0 as an alternate technology was considered. Worked with OEMs on custom product development and proof of concept solutions. Worked with OEMs and SMEs at DISH to setup and configure an actual low power ATSC 3.0 broadcast from Lookout Mountain in Golden Colorado.     Starting at EchoStar in 1993, I was hired as an RF Engineer II. During this time, I worked on various projects for analog satellite television products from modulators, tuners, RF remote controls. Work shifted to digital satellite television to support the launch of DISH Network. Digital RF projects encompassed a range of technologies from prototyping L-band QPSK tuners to setting up the very first digital satellite simulator for EchoStar. With the launch of DISH Network in 1996 I was promoted to RF Engineering manager. In this position I managed a group that provided engineering for internal set top box RF circuit design as well as OEM outdoor satellite equipment. My responsibilities ranged from system specifications to component level engineering. In addition, I managed multiple OEM vendors for the design, development and approval of custom equipment for satellite reception. In the past I also managed other engineering discipline groups at EchoStar. I had responsibilities for the Analog A/V Engineering, Power Supply Engineering, and Agency Compliance groups. Technologies spanned analog and digital audio/video circuits, switch mode power supplies, power converters, and power regulation. Agency Compliance covered FCC, UL and international regulatory compliance testing and validation. I was promoted to the Director of RF and OEM Engineering in 2006. I continue to manage all the RF circuit designs for EchoStar set top boxes. Set top box RF design technology ranges from digital satellite communications, terrestrial HDTV broadcast reception, digital cable systems, as well as wireless remote controls. On the OEM side, I work with my team and a wide range of vendors to take system level specifications to final custom products. Technology spans satellite and off-air antennas, satellite reception equipment, coax distribution equipment, remote controls using IR and wireless communications, WiFi and other home networking solutions.
