After a 4 year contract as MD in Zambia, I was promoted to be MD in Tanzania to handle the implementation of group strategy to turn Tanzania into the “production hub” of the region. Relocated the factory from Kenya, re-commissioned in Tanzania to expand production and to enable exports to four other East African countries. Reporting to the group CEO in South Africa, ensured that all aspects of the company’s business was operating within the guidelines of the Shareholders’ Terms of Reference and applicable laws and regulations in Tanzania, particularly with respect to stringent Food Safety and export Quality Assurance standards. Developed New Markets, enhanced Brand Value and increased Market Share, implemented Business Plans including marketing plans, new product launches and annual country budgets.

Zambia

 Establishment of a new Registered Financial Institution in Zambia as part of the Regional expansion of a stock exchange listed group. Involved locally in the merger of two dual listed banking groups, re-naming and satisfying the central bank [Bank of Zambia] for the conversion of that Zambian license to a full banking license in the name of African Banking Corporation. Mew Market Development, designed and implemented Strategic Business plans and rolled out new banking products. Developed banking documentation tailored specifically for Zambian Law. - Ensured that all operational aspects of the company’s business was conforming to requirements of the regulatory authorities, including Credit Sanction Policies, Central Bank reporting procedures and Management and Computer Service Agreements.
