I bring senior level experience from 40+ years of innovation management and advisor responsibility at multiple levels of large and small businesses, startups, non-profit and public organizations. My focus is on implementation: producing results. I am known for designing and implementing strategy that is tightly linked to action plans with systems that permit continuous adaptation in response to an evolving world. I developed these systems working outside the United States in countries undergoing upheavals: social, political, military and economic. I often, but not always, succeeded, and applied the learning to developing and deploying organizational structures (internal and external via alliances) to achieve strategic results that provided value to both investors and the public sector. HIGHLIGHTS OF EXPERIENCE• Corporate Innovation Ecosystems- Fifteen+ years experiencing designing and launching multi-party alliances that converted suppliers and external innovation sources into coordinated innovation ecosystems.• Innovation Public/Private Partnerships (I-PPP)- Fifteen years experience designing and launching multi-party, innovation alliances involving Federal, state and university members, primarily to achieve international competitiveness and economic growth.• Public Innovation Policy Programs- Advisor to the US Federal government (DOD, DOT, NASA) and state governments on how to institutionalize innovation partnership programs. Four years as chair of an ad-hoc, national working group of professional practitioners that compiled and disseminated best practices for multi-party, innovation public/private partnerships (I-PPP).• Startups- Project manager, working investor or co-owner of four startups. All succeeded in commercializing new technology or business models and sold out on either asset value or acquisition.• Management Consulting- Four years creating corporate strategy, business unit plans, new product development and investment management strategies.• International Corporate Finance- Four years focused on high risk and syndicated lending.• Technology Knowledge- Hands on work developing or leading teams that commercialized: Computer Networking, Software, Big Data for Financial Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Indoor Food Growing, Drones, Aircraft, Advanced Manufacturing, Advanced Materials, RoboticsSpecialties: • Corporate Innovation Ecosystems • Innovation Public/Private Partnerships• Strategy using Scenario Planning• Business Plan Development• Research and Development • Early Stage Capital• Director Level Guidance
