• Provide a tooling design service to meet the needs of the manufacturing process.• Manage and modify existing tooling and equipment as required.• Design of tooling or equipment and produce qualifying documentation such as calculations.• Produce and maintain design history files.

Currently responsible for the creative design of new and bespoke, special purpose machinery and ground care equipment. Aiding in the development and modifications of the existing product range, with the goal of maintaining continuous product improvements.I project manage from concept design and prototyping, through to detailed design for production. I apply lean principles to help maximise quality and reduce time and cost at the production stage. This requires me to be a creative problem solver, and initiate solutions that can anticipate consequences of a new design change.Modern fabrication and manufacturing techniques have been learnt, including sheet metal and machining operations.My role also requires me to:- Carry out basic FEA of designs to check are fit for purpose. - Report on project progress, and timelines. - Provide technical support to production, sales, purchasing, liaise with fabrication.- Partake in practical field trails of machinery.- Aid in the set-up of the day to day running of the design department.

I worked as a Junior Draughtsman where I was required to produce detailed and production drawings of new and updated designs to BS8888, and use the business software Sage 200 at a basic level. Accrued more advanced Solidworks solid modelling and drawing skills which increased work quality and efficiency.Design input in group projects, including the development of a concept to prototype stage. This was in time for a maritime trade show. This required me to have a high level of focus and to be good at prioritising workloads around deadlines.

Part of my third year University course was to gain experience in a professional working environment related to my course. Key roles included shadowing the technical manager to provide support for design, engineering, material and application support, and technical quotations. Basic and intermediate tool design was also learnt using DS Solidworks
