Paul McCarney is CEO of Sector Light, a firm dedicated to the active coaching and mentoring of technology CEOs and Founders. Paul has first-hand experience with the difficulties inherent in that position, along with solutions to tackle frequently encountered issues. His service isn't solely based on asking questions – it also offers concrete guidance and frameworks.As an investor, advisor, and founder, Paul has more than 30 years in data, technology, and digital business, and has founded and invested in over 40 technology related start-ups. He is a holder of multiple patents relating to systems, data, and identity, consulted for Bain, Deloitte and Accenture, and is a regular industry and private equity advisor, and occasional writer. He was a founding member of the Australian Governments’ National Data Advisory Council, as well as the co-founder of Data Governance Australia Association. Paul recently co-founded the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) Australia, is Non-Executive Director for Discovery Holiday Parks and Australian Doctor Group, and has previously been a NED at Trade Me (TME.AX) and iiNet (IIN.AX), amongst various others. Paul lives in Sydney’s Northern Beaches with his wife Carmel, two adult children, and two dogs. He grew up surfing and playing ball sports (football +45 years).
