I love people. My parents told me that when I was a kid, they worried I was going to get kidnapped because I would strike up a conversation with anyone I could. In the working world I honed that tendency into a skill, learning what makes people tick and then doing my best to help them learn, grow, and upskill. I have had the good fortune of leading many people over the years, and the things I am the most proud of is always seeing people grow personally and professionally- especially those who might not perfectly fit in with the status quo.But, simply loving people isn’t all it takes. When it comes to people, you have to be an expert communicator to build meaningful connections. You need to build collaboration and you have to lead teams though transformation and change. All these things give me energy and have helped me find successes in delivering business growth and outcomes over my tenure in leading people. I grew up in Atlanta and now reside in Minneapolis. It’s great here, other than the winter, of course. When I am not working, I volunteer and I am on several non-profit boards. I like riding bikes, especially with my daughter. I like to compete against myself by moving heavy things in the gym.
