Paul Melley received his PhD in Theology and Education at Boston College's School of Theology and Ministry with primary interests in sacramentality and justice, secularism, Karl Rahner, mystagogy, liturgy, and music.He is a published composer with GIA Publications, and Oregon Catholic Press. His work is featured in four hymnals internationally, and has released two popular collections with GIA, Humbled, and most recently, God is Love. Most recently, Melley was Assistant to the Pastor and University Liaison at St. Ignatius and Boston College. He was responsible for the implementation of financial and administrative policies and protocols and bringing many practices up to date. Previously, Melley served in Campus ministry as the Director of Liturgical Music and Assistant Chaplain for over a decade at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He has also served as part-time member of the liturgy team at Boston College’s School of Theology and Ministry and as a team member for Notre Dame's Frank J. Lewis Institute.In addition to song writing and performing, Paul was an editor for the GIA hymnal, Cross Generations, and he produced several of the accompanying recordings. He has been featured on numerous recordings from hymnal publisher GIA Publications and Oregon Catholic Press and has performed and presented throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, including two World Youth Days, WYD 2002 (Toronto, CA) and WYD 2008 (Sydney, Australia). Melley is a sought after singer, composer, speaker, worship leader and saxophonist. His vibrant contemporary sound coupled with engaging theological insights captivates Christians of all ages.
