Pharos (Now part of Evertz) is a software company which makes products to streamline the production of Multi Media Broadcast systems that uses web (flash) front ends and Oracle Databases. Biggest projects include the back end of Channel 4s 4OD, Skys' HD Sports Studios & NOBs (Holland) MCR and Advent World Radio podcasts. * Working with Linux (Slackware & SuSE) and windows (Server 2003, XP and Vista) OS. * Using MS Excel to produce multiple reports and designing software configurations for systems controlling hundreds of video devices. * Configuring bespoke S/w and Apache Websites for system control and monitoring (Pilot). * Running SQL scripts on Firebird and Oracle Databases, to upgrade and change/manage data. * Writing BASH scripts to manipulate media files (MP3 and AVI etc.) using ffmpeg and mediainfo.
