The website An Eventful Life www.an-eventful-life.com.au was launched in March 2012 as a magazine-style online resource dedicated to the sport of eventing in Australia and around the world.Since that time it has established itself as one of the leading content providers for the sport of eventing in the digital market. The website operates on a subscription model with the majority of its subscribers being based in Australia although there is a growing interest in the United Kingdom. The site has over 50 bloggers (including some of the world’s top riders) and, in addition to providing written editorial, video interviews, photographic and audio content, An Eventful Life also publishes innovative video footage of the cross country phase of eventing competitionsIn February 2014, against strong international competition, An Eventful Life won the Equestrian Social Media Awards’ Regional Category for Australia, New Zealand and Oceania and also the World Award, chosen by Richard Johnson, Director of Corporate Communication for the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the international governing body for all Olympic equestrian disciplines.In addition to the ESMA accolades, An Eventful Life was also awarded runner-up in two categories of the new international Equestrian Digital Awards for Best Web Site (≤20k visitors pcm) and Rich Media. An Eventful Life’s submission for the Rich Media category was based on the video technology which enables the filming and creation of hundreds of individual rider videos from the cross country phase of eventing competitions around Australia.
