Paul Milana, FAIA, is an architect and urban designer with over 35 years of experience designing mixed-use, transit-oriented, and infill communities and resort villages. He is currently directing large scale master planning and architecture efforts in several locations including the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Chicago, IL, Puerto Rico, Charleston, SC, Los Angeles County, CA, and the San Francisco Bay Area.His master plan for Hollywood Park, a new mixed-use sports and entertainment center in Inglewood, CA, hosted the 2022 Super Bowl and will open and close the LA28 Olympics. He served as the project architect and town planner of WaterColor and WindMark Beach in Florida, two new resort towns along the Florida Panhandle coast. He has directed various design efforts for the Town of Celebration, FL, including neighborhood planning and residential and office building designs, as well as mixed-use, residential, and civic building designs for WaterColor and WindMark Beach, and Bay Meadows in San Mateo, CA. He has planned mixed-use communities and resort villages across the U.S. and the Caribbean, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Brazil, and Russia and infill and transit-oriented communities in Virginia, California and Texas. He directed a regional smart growth plan and form based code for the East Edisto Regional Master Plan, comprising 78,000 acres near Charleston, South Carolina. His work with academic institutions includes master plans and building designs for The University of Texas System, Trinity University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His resort work includes the architectural design and planning of Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, the Disneyland Expansion Plan in Anaheim, CA.Mr. Milana is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, where he led an annual course in Town Planning for its Real Estate School and is currently serving on one of its Community Design Councils. Mr. Milana has been moderator, panelist, and speaker at several ULI events. His design for New Town in James City County, VA was selected as the winner of an international competition. He received his degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame and resides in New York City.
