Responsible for a wide range of in-house software solution development and third-party software implementation, customization, and maintenance, as a member of Umpqua's Technology Advancement Group. Roles undertaken include Requirements Analysis, Detailed Solution Design, Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Project Management. Examples:- Maintained and enhanced Umpqua's previous Mortgage Origination and Production system, E3. Duties included database and server maintenance and monitoring, and review, design, and implementation of functionality enhancements. Also created a data warehouse. Utilized SQL, Windows OS, and VBScript.- Assisted in the implementation of Umpqua's current Mortgage Origination and Production system, Encompass360 Banker's Edition. Responsibilities included coding of the most complex custom business rules and triggers, senior-level review of junior analysts' work, and testing and implementation of key interfaces. Utilized SQL, Windows OS, and VB.NET.- Filled project management, requirements analysis, detailed design, quality assurance, and application development roles on a project that produced a custom interface from Encompass to the FiServ Premier core system. Utilized Windows OS, Access, and VB.NET.- Filled project management, requirements analysis, detailed design, and quality assurance roles on a project that produced a custom loan delivery export from Encompass to GNMA's loan delivery web portal.- Migrated an existing Access-based Appraisal and Evaluation Tracking system to utilize a SQL back-end database. Created tables in the SQL database, and modified the queries, forms, and reports in Access.- Developed an interface from the Encompass360 Mortgage system to the GFX Wires system. Utilized MS Visual Studio Ultimate, .NET 4.0, and the Encompass SDK.

Worked on a number of software development projects. Responsibilities included design assistance, coding, initial unit testing, working with product analysts and QA during unit and system testing, and working with documentation specialists to create readable and accurate documentation.- Worked on a team that developed a software package used for originating mortgages. This product was developed using C#, in combination with a xaml-based screen development tool. The product captures a full set of mortgage application information, retrieves credit reports and automated underwriting information, and moves the information to Harland's web-based mortgage processing, closing, and settlement system. This 2+ year effort included the initial development of the product through the initial release, and several subsequent releases. My focus was on GUI development, including work on the screen controls, using C#, xaml, and xml/xslt.- Worked on a team that developed an earlier software package used for originating mortgages. This windows-based product was developed using Delphi 5.0. It also includes an intelligent business object layer between the database and the GUI.- Worked on a team that created utilities and supported customers who were converting from Harland's DOS-based mortgage system to their web-based mortgage product. Using Delphi, created utilities that convert documents, the functions and custom data fields used by those documents, loan programs, users, and statuses.- Worked on a team that supported the Documents functions within Harland’s web-based mortgage system. This included coding of bug fixes and enhancements to the Document Maintenance functions in E3, and development of a document update utility that merges Harland-based document updates smoothly with customer customizations. Development was done in Delphi.

Worked on a number of software development projects. Responsibilities included detail design of functions and enhancements (including hands-on GUI design), conducting design review sessions, working with engineers to enhance the system, testing the enhancements, working with QA to make sure the modified function works as specified, and working with documentation specialists. I also assisted in data design, specifically in the design of the business objects.- Worked on the development of Harland’s windows-based mortgage origination system.- Worked on a team that developed a software package used for maintaining mortgage loan program information, and for daily product pricing (creating and delivering rate sheets). This windows-based product utilized Visual C++ as its development environment.- Worked on a team that developed, using Visual Basic, a windows-based software package used to support the Secondary Marketing function in mortgage banks.- Worked on teams that developed and maintained Harland’s DOS-based software package for mortgage origination, processing, closing, and settlement, and for supporting the secondary marketing function.- My experience also includes designing and implementing numerous interfaces to third-party products, specifically the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac automated underwriting services.

1) Supported the Mortgage Underwriting group at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Company (FHLMC, or Freddie Mac):- Led a requirements study that recommended which mortgage origination software vendors Freddie Mac should work with on their Automated Underwriting System pilot project.- Responsible for establishing the Mortgage Industry Technology Lab at Freddie Mac. The Lab provided support for internal projects and education in the primary mortgage business, through study of the technology used in this business.2) Supported the Securities Sales & Trading Group (SS&TG) at Freddie Mac:- Supported and enhanced the production systems used by SS&TG Traders, Operations, and Control. Prioritized requests, wrote detail specifications, and tested the resulting system enhancements. The systems utilized Clipper on a PC LAN (Novell). - Created and supported additional end-user systems using Foxpro and Excel.3) Lead Analyst on a Requirements Study that produced an RFP used by Crestar Mortgage Corporation of Richmond, VA, to choose and install a new, PC-based Loan Origination software package.- Conducted high and middle-level management interviews, analyzed current system, and defined and confirmed business and system requirements.- Responsible for the format and content of the RFP and all other project documentation.

Worked on various consulting assignments, including the following:- Lead Analyst on the Detail Design of a comprehensive custom application for the Environmental Health Division of a local Health Department. The system was designed using the IEF CASE Tool from Texas Instruments and was implemented on an IBM System/38 minicomputer using RPG.- Lead Analyst on the Feasibility Study that preceded the above-mentioned detail design effort. Responsibilities included detailed business and user needs analysis, coordinating JAD sessions, and developing and documenting the high-level system design.- Lead Analyst on a detailed Information Systems Assessment for a local jewelry manufacturer and wholesaler. Responsibilities included detailed business and user needs analysis, and creating and documenting detailed recommendations in a Final Report.- Lead Analyst during a Needs Assessment and Software Package Selection project for a local private university. Responsibilities included analyzing user requirements, creating an RFP for distribution to vendors, and assisting in the vendor selection process. Hardware used was a cluster of two DEC/Vax 6000 series minis.
