Currently I am responsible for sales of the complete MSC Software portfolio as well as Vi-Rail, CivilFEM and LS-Dyna in Southern Africa, as well as the general running of the company. I am also still the main support person for CivilFEM and MSC Apex while the rest of the team are focusing on support and services on all the other products, especially the vast MSC Software portfolio of products.

In this position, I was responsible for client liaison, training, support, knowledge transfer projects and product and process implementation. The products ranged from Finite Element Analyses to Multi-Body Dynamic analyses for various customers.I supported our customers on the following products: MSC Apex, Adams, Vi-Rail, CivilFEM, Simufact Welding, Simufact Additive, Simufact Forming, Patran, Marc and SimXpert.Apart from writing and presenting the FEA101 FEA Fundamentals course, I also regularly presented courses on Adams, Vi-Rail, Patran and Nastran.Another aspect of product support was to work with the software suppliers on product development and improvement. I was on the MSC Apex Top Gun team since pre-alpha release of Arctic Wolf (very first version of MSC Apex) to test and evaluate this pioneering product from MSC Software and also worked with the team at Ingeciber on the first version of CivilFEM for Marc since 2015.I am passionate about many things technology related, but high on the list is effective training approaches and in-software training possibilities.I am the architect of the MSC Apex Curriculum kit for undergraduate students in Engineering Materials and Mechanics, as well as the product independent, Practical Finite Element Analysis Fundamentals training course FEA101.Projects that I worked on include numerous armoured vehicle blast modelling and simulations, Train dynamics simulations, structural analyses on various process plan equipment and other components like pumps, train wagons etc.

As manager, I was responsible for training and mentoring the group of analysts in the analysis and simulation fields of Finite Element Analysis using Patran, Nastran, Marc and Dytran, Multibody Dynamics using Adams/View, Adams/Car and Adams/RailPrior to being manager, I worked on projects regarding TerraMechanics (soil interaction), vehicle dynamics, crash analyses, dynamic train simultations and working on software development in terra mechanics using analytical formulations from Bekker, mobility models (South African Army Mobility model), armed solder simulations, and other software developments in Matlab, MS Access and Visual Basic .NET and ArcGIS with VBA.

Engineer at railway maintenance depot, followed by position at Engineering Department further developing software using rail wear prediction models and Finite Element Analysis on rail and rail structure components. Experience in strain gauge measurements; As part of initial exposure to the track technology centre the applicant assisted in numerous projects where strain gauges and multi depth deflectometers (MDD's) were utilised to measure structural integrity of loading yards, railway tracks and track components.
