PhD student in Industrial Engineering and Management at UBI, Master in Engineering and Management of Physical Assets and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from ISEC, where I began my academic adventure that sparked a real interest in the world of Engineering in Industry. An arduous path, but undoubtedly inspiring. During my degree I worked “after hours” in the retail sector in order to achieve some financial independence. However, it wasn't something that made my academic life any easier... But I certainly honed skills such as time management and, above all, focus!Determination has never failed me when it comes to achieving goals. Whether it was representing the Portuguese National Team of the Chinese Kempo Federation at the 2011 WTKA World Championships in Italy. Whether in the world of music, where I learned to play the piano and guitar by myself, having no other choice at the time... It didn't make me the best pianist or guitarist. Not at all. But at least it earned me a nomination for the best musician award at the 2017 Escolíadas. I also took part in the music, dance and acting competitions in 2016.High school was full of activities and achievements. I had the opportunity to be President of the Students' Association of one of the largest schools in Coimbra: Escola Secundária de Avelar Brotero. It was such an enriching experience, given the stage of life I was in and the number of people from various backgrounds and ages with whom I dealt and led. A position that aroused a great desire for success, from the election phase to the last organized event. Accomplishing goals and, above all, wanting to motivate people was something that totally changed my life.The degree in Mechanical Engineering created in me a special admiration for the area of maintenance and management! So I went on to do a Master's degree in Engineering and Management of Physical Assets. I worked on life cycle analysis. First on a children's playground and then on a wood cutting and debarking line for a large company in the pulp industry. I was able to take part in numerous events, either as a speaker, moderator or even on the organizing committees. I LOVED IT.Afterwards I decided to study for a PhD, where I want to learn more about the latest technologies in lifecycle analysis and maintenance management. So that I can transfer all this knowledge to the workplace and make teams and companies grow!If there's one thing I've learned, it's that regardless of large investments in machinery and equipment, the greatest asset companies have is PEOPLE.
