Provided the potential for advancement, growth, and development, leading to a career, while further developing my experience and work skills, particularly problem solving. Provided me the ability to focus on my college studies, giving me the flexibility to work full-time during summer and school breaks and part-time during school semesters. Short-comings I observed at this location included poor downward and lateral communication of critical event schedules and poor workforce planning, the combination of which had a negative effect on the overall customer experience. Although frustrating, I learned the importance of management training, stellar communications, working under pressure and imperfect systems and managers, and the importance of teamwork, interpersonal skills, and relationships, all of which are essential to not only resort hotels, but to all organizations.
