Paulo is graduated from Porto Faculty of Architecture (FAUP) in 2006.He began his professional career in Barcelona in 2004, working in several world renowned architecture practices such EMBT, Ramón Sanabria or Afredo Arribas where he gained experience in different projects of small to large scale.At the same time he started to work in partnership with Alina Jerónimo, in the subject that would be their main research: sustainable design, natural and earth architecture technologies.This research led him to start the post-master "Earth Architecture - Constructive Cultures and Sustainable Development" in CRATerre Institute, France. Together with Alina Jerónimo, he presented his post-master paper thesis: “The Kingdom of Manica - Improvement of local construction systems” which was focused on two main subjects: vernacular architecture in Mozambique and the design and building of a sustainable community center in Manica, in collaboration with Architecture for Humanity.This community center in Manica was the result of engaging local communities in improving local construction techniques through the use of earth/natural materials for a low environmental impact and social progress.Paulo returned to Lisbon in May 2013 were he established his practice in partnership with Alina Jerónimo (CAS - Sustainable Architecture Collective) , continuing their work on sustainable and ecological architecture.Together with Alina Jerónimo, he continue his research on sustainable systems and technologies through international competitions, new projects, rehabilitations and refurbishment projects and partnerships with universities and enterprises.
