I am Paulo Chong, an engineer born in Macau in 1969. I am married and have over 29 years of experience across various fields of engineering. Throughout my career, I have excelled in business management and administration, with a particular focus on investment and financial mechanisms, commodity trading in the primary sector, representation, due diligence, as well as engineering and construction in project and enterprise management, with an emphasis on critical mission infrastructure (high availability).I have over 20 years of experience in contract management and administration, including extensive knowledge and expertise with international standard construction contracts, such as FIDIC contract forms, as well as a solid understanding of Portuguese, European, Brazilian, Mercosur, and international legislation.My international experience spans several countries, including Angola, Belgium, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, and Sweden, with projects and partnerships in Algeria, Argentina, Cape Verde, Qatar, Chile, China, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, Finland, Guinea-Bissau, India, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Libya, Macau, Morocco, Mozambique, the United Kingdom, São Tomé and Príncipe, Tunisia, and Venezuela.Throughout my career, I have been involved in managing challenging projects and working with demanding clients. A notable example is the construction of Phase 3 of Equinix’s IBX SP4 Data Centre, a significant investment involving over 3,000 stakeholders and encompassing all construction disciplines, including licensing, approvals, and certifications, as well as TIER III certification from the Uptime Institute.I am highly qualified and possess a broad set of technical and human skills, including leadership, complex problem-solving, and business management. With my experience in large-scale projects, I consider myself an ideal candidate for high-responsibility and high-risk roles. I have critical thinking abilities and a strong sense of responsibility, allowing me to deliver exceptional results.In addition, with strong leadership abilities, I founded the Social Collaboration Project (project PCS) and have served as president of various organisations, including the Association for Internationalisation and Economic Intelligence (AIIE), the Rotary Club Porto-Foz, the Rotary Club São Paulo Paraíso, and the Casa de Macau Association of São Paulo. I have also been an ambassador for therapeutic health projects, consistently demonstrating a commitment to community engagement and social impact.
