Summary: Licensed/Certified paramedics will be part of the BCFS Emergency Management Division Medical Staffing Team and will respond to natural disasters and public health emergencies. Paramedics will provide medical evaluations, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured; responses to emergency rescue situations involving potential loss of life or bodily injury; maintains control, manages and directs patient care at the scene of a pre-hospital emergency; perform other duties as required.Essential Functions of the Job: Provides and directs Basic and Advanced Life Support to the ill and injured utilizing all basic and advanced abilities and techniques; Follows standard operating policies and procedures as developed and established by the BCFS Medical Director and EMD; and Adequately and successfully performs duties within the scope of para-medicine and BCFS protocols, procedures and standing orders. Other Responsibilities: Communicates and collaborates with appropriate medical staff and ensures situational awareness is maintained among the Medical Staff unit;Ensures meticulous and comprehensive medical recordkeeping and documentation;Extensive, last-minute travel within the U.S. may be required;Must be able to work 12-hour shifts within a 24-hour operational period for extended periods of time. Shifts to be determined based on operational needs and/or command priorities; Will be required to sign a confidentiality statement & abide by BCFS policies and procedures while employed by BCFS; Abides by all appropriate BCFS policies, procedures and standard protocol, with an emphasis on strict adherence to ethical codes; Ensures ability to perform in dynamic, fast-paced, stressful environments associated with disaster response; and Performs other duties as may be assigned. :
