About Paulo Gonçalves Marques, Miet
I am a Portuguese citizen currently working in the Railway industry as a Functional Integration Engineer and Team Lead for Alstom in UK Derby in the Crossrail Project, on behalf of Critical Software. I have been working in this project since 2017 and I have been living in the UK since 2018, under the settled agreement program. I am currently acting as a Senior Functional Integration engineer and the Team Leader of the Functional Integration Team, working on :• train testing and validation, • validation of software for the train in both train and laboratory environments,• validation of hardware for the train in both train and laboratory environments, • developing functional design solutions to fix issues identified • creation of new functionalities for the Train Control and Management System• Writing technical documentation, • managing the functional Integration team, the workloads and interactions with other teams • interact with the customer on a regular basis.Some of my interests include Transports Engineering, Space Engineering and Military Engineering. I am also interested in Energy Engineering and Nuclear, although I have no real experience with these.I have a background in Physics and Physics Engineering Instrumentation education. I have some considerable international experience, having worked in Portugal, Switzerland, Germany and currently in the United Kingdom.I have some experience with C and C++ as favoured programming languages. Currently re-learning Python. Something else about me unrelated with work? I like world building, I am a very amateur writer and I am a hiking enthusiast.
