About Paulo Radatz
Hello everyone,I'm Paulo Radatz, and I currently hold the position of Engineer/Scientist V at EPRI.🎓 My academic journey has been centered around Electrical Engineering, with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees earned at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2015, I had the distinct honor of being named the top bachelor's student at the Polytechnic School of the University of Sao Paulo. I am particularly proud of being chosen as the 'honored professor' by my fellow undergraduates, a recognition that continues to inspire me.🔌 At EPRI, I'm deeply engaged in exploring hosting capacity and innovative strategies to enhance it. My focus areas include time-series hosting capacity, DER modeling for QSTS simulation, wide-area distribution assessment for planning purposes, and currently, I lead the development of the EPRI DRIVE tool. Additionally, I'm privileged to be one of the developers behind OpenDSS.👨🏫 Education holds a special place in my heart, forming an integral part of my professional identity. With over 15 years of experience in private teaching, I firmly believe in the transformative power of education. It was education that enabled me to transcend my origins in Itaquera, a modest area in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and gain access to a world of opportunities. In fact, I've shared my personal journey in a Portuguese-language YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QAGUhjupmM). Recently, I was honored to serve as a keynote speaker, discussing the intersection of Engineering Education and Power Quality.📚 Throughout my career, I've accumulated almost a decade of expertise with OpenDSS. I've had the privilege of conducting numerous training sessions on OpenDSS in Brazil, including participation in conferences, universities, and industry events. I have been leading the EPRI OpenDSS training for the last two years. Notably, I'm the founder of the world's largest YouTube channel dedicated to OpenDSS. Currently, I'm a lecturer on OpenDSS, contributing to the Electric Power Distribution MBA course and the Power System Analysis with OpenDSS course, both hosted at the Polytechnic School of the University of Sao Paulo.I'm eager to connect with you!
