A policy execution and strategy development role in UK Ministry of Defence - Finance and Military Capability.Deputy Head India leads the team responsible for developing the UK’s capability collaboration relationship with Delhi. Day-to-day this means understanding where the UK’s capability requirements overlap with those of India's armed forces and then ‘match-making’ to establish Government-to-Government projects to meet them.Deputy Head Strategy leads the team responsible for pursuing HM Government’s ‘International by Design’ defence capability acquisition principle. Simply, this team provides tools and advice to Senior Responsible Owners to ensure that exportability and international partnering are considered from the the earliest moment in a project’s lifecycle. Through bilateral and multilateral collaborations, UK Defence acquires capability sooner, at a better price and/or to a higher standard.To be successful, the role requires genuine collaboration and close coordination with the UK defence & security industry, ministers, colleagues across Whitehall, the Front Line Commands, Defence Equipment & Support, and the relevant embassies and High Commissions. It therefore straddles three policy professions: Management of Defence, Capability & Acquisition and Defence Engagement.
