Having been "working" for nearly 40 years now, I have aquired a vast array of skills, knowledge and contacts in a variety of areas. Whilst mainly being involved in local government, housing, homelessness and private lettings,, I have also gained eperience in counselling, media work, course presentation, presenting to large audiences, how to develop an outline, speech writing, sales, marital disputes and the list goes on.The problem was, which area to specialise in? Hence the idea of becoming a general problem solver....Just tell me your problem, and I will tell you if I can help solve it......if not, I won't waste your time or money....Recent examples:1. Helped my local branch of MIND the mental health charity, restructure its working practices to improve client experience and reduce costs.2. Mentored a young person to help set up their own business.3. Worked with a local authority to rehouse 23 homeless people out of a nightshelter and into permanant private accommodation.4. Worked with 4 local authorities to develop empty property strategies resulting in over 1,000 empty homes coming back into use.

Empty Homes UK Ltd is my new venture where I am looking to apply my 28 years of experience in bringing empty homes back into use in the public sector, into the private sector.This will be for investors who are looking to purchase homes, a tracing service to source owners, and deal making.Also, looking to set up a social side to bring homes into use for social housing.

1st Choice lettings managed 19 HMO houses in Corby within 10 months,.We had over 100 tenants, and I as proud to work with the local council to take on homeless clients.I left a year later due to internal differences.

Tasked with refining Wellingborough's empty homes strategy dealing with approx 400 empty homes across Wellingborough.

Funded by Central Government to deal with the top 50 empty homes in Corby and East Northants.In Corby I reduced the number of empty homes from 600 to 43 in 5 years.

I was under contract to Luton Borough Council until August 2011 as their Empty Homes Officer.Approx 700 long term vacant to deal with!!

I have recently been appointed as an Associate of the Empty Homes Agency.I will be doing some training with local authorities in conjunction with the Homes and Community Agency.I will also be promoting the work of the agency.

I was responsible for running Westminster's empty property strategy, identifying the 3,000 or so vacant properties in Westminster, as well as finding the owners and forcing them to take action to bring their properties back into use.My work was highlighted in the BBC1 series, Britains Empty Homes.

I travelled throughout England encouraging local authorities to have an empty property strategy and training empty property officers, as well as liaising with Central Government as to the situation around the country with regards to vacant, privately owned property.Much of my role was also fund raising for the charity in order to keep it going.As part of that I edited and published a publication around empty rural homes.

Worked in over 250 departments as a specialised sales adviser before becoming A.S.E in books and magazines.
