Responsible for setting and executing the overall IT strategy for Pigsback.com, specifically the management and development of highly scalable, high performing web and mobile ecommerce applications.Working with a small, agile team, we were tasked with working with each business unit to development the right tools for each area, including Finance, Customer Support, Marketing and Sales.My role also included the management and maintenance of all office hardware while liaising with our 3rd party IT company, and our AWS infrastructure in conjunction with our AWS certified partner.Reporting to the board was expected on a bi-monthly basis with budgets, projects and reports required.I successfully managed several key business critical projects including:• Rearchitecture of API technology to increase latency and performance.• Migration to Entity Framework and setup of in-house CMS system.• Migration of user-base between Email Providers.• Setup of CodeCommit, CodeDeploy and Auto Scaling in AWS to allow for easy deployment and scalability.• Integration of acquired competitor platforms and user-bases into our exiting Pigsback.com architecture. • Setup of multi-currency priced technology for clients and members.• Implementation of error and performance tracking in AWS and NewRelic.• Build of Lambda serverless apps with Python for data transfers, image auto-resizing and cache busting.• Creation of applications to allow clients to manage sales and availability, while also allowing our members to interact with clients. This included a Partner Portal for Yield Management and Order fulfilment, as well as Concierge for online member bookings.• Integration with 3rd party hotel platforms (DEdge, SunHotels) to provide our members with non-domestic availability.• Migration of Pigsback.com to AngularJs.• Creation and management of mobile app through Xamarin.

• Manage over 30 servers (Windows, Linux and Dedicated Databases), domains and DNS requirements in an Amazon Cloud environment;• As the Technology Manager I present the development plan, and report key statistics to the board of directors on a quarterly basis;• Manage, maintain, design, develop and debug over 20 separate web applications; including E-Commerce, CMS and Reporting services;• Develop and maintain RESTful API’s for 3rd party integration into Pigsback.com’s Research Platform;• Oversee the design, management and optimisation of the core Pigsback.com membership, content and API database infrastructure ensuring scalability, resilience and availability at all times;• Co-ordinate and lead brain storming sessions involving marketing, sales, operations and senior management. Taking from the outcomes of these meetings, I then manage the implementation of these projects in accordance with business requirements and priorities.

• I was part of a team that architected and migrated all of Pigsback.com’s physical, traditional data-centre located servers into a newly provisioned Amazon environment, with Zero unplanned downtime• Line manager of the junior developer, whilst at the same time reporting directly into the Chief Technical Officer;• Was a senior member of the team that architected and implemented the transition of the core Pigsback.com application to a service oriented architecture and was responsible for the development of the API layer which exposed core platform functionality initially to the Pigsback.com frontend and ultimately also to 3rd party partner sites;• Developed an affiliate based, brand-able, web application powered by an API that 3rd parties can use to sell offers through our platform and payment gateway. Partners including ‘The Taste of Ireland’, UTV Radio Ireland Ltd, and Evoke.ie. This build required the implementation of a CMS and reporting platform for each partner.• Improved the e-commerce side of the Deal-of-the Day sites to include a Saved Card function from within Realex. Also implemented a payment gateway failover to fall-back to our secondary payment gateway in an event of technical difficulties in Realex;• Managed several specialised Deal-of-the-Day subsidiaries via Wordpress platforms, e.g. TheDiningRoom.ie;• Scheduled and managed code deployments from a staging to live environment.

• Developed MyMilkman.ie – a site that allows customers to signup, find their local milkman, and order their weekly dairy shopping;• Designed and developed Pigsback.com’s Deal-of-the-Day offering, which is currently ranked 3rd in the market with an annual revenue of several million;• To support the Deal-of-the-Day site I had to design and develop several Management Portals including a Reporting System, a CMS, a CRM, and a Finance Portal;• Assisted members’ customer support and technical queries.

• Looked after the setup and maintenance of SMS/MMS campaigns, including the management of all mobile network (SMPP/MM7) connections. Notable campaigns involved clients such as Diageo and Coca-Cola;• Website design and programming, including a system that delivers perfect-fit for mobile handsets;• Maintenance and administration of the database servers, as well as designing backup and recovery plans;• E-mail administrator;• Setup of version control software (SVN) for all code bases;• Desktop maintenance and management within the office;• Network security including Firewall and VPNs.
