Paul Pouwer is one of the top sound engineers in the Netherlands. He's owner of a state of the art recording studio: POWER SOUND STUDIO in Amsterdam. With very large recording spaces, the newest SSL DUALITY console, ProTools HDX (12 with 48 ch. DAD converters), many (vintage) microphones, EMT140, Lexicon 960L and vintage outboard gear makes every recording possible. Steinway D-274, Hammond B3, Wurlizer and a Fender Rhodes are standard. As an engineer Paul already has a great diversity of productions to his name: from recordings and live concerts ranging from Jazz(-rock) to Pop and Hiphop, to large-scale classical concerts and operas. Paul collaborates with artist Trijntje Oosterhuis and as FOH/recording/mixing engineer of the 'METROPOLE ORCHESTRA’ that works with artists like: Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Joe Zawinul, Al Jarreau, Pat Metheny, The Brecker Brothers, Dianne Reeves, Toots Thielemans, New York Voices, Steve Vai, Terry Bozzio, Terence Blanchard, Elvis Costello, Chaka Khan, Ivan Lins, Cristina Branco, Mariza, Gino Vannelli, Oleta Adams, Lucie Silvas and many, many others.... Foh, Recording & Mix EngineeringMetropole Orkest 1998 - PresentHilversumHet Metropole Orkest beheerst een breed repertoire van jazz, pop en wereldmuziek en staat al decennia wereldwijd te boek als koploper van de professionele orkesten in deze genres. Daarnaast wordt het orkest regelmatig gevraagd voor film-, tv-producties en entertainment. Het Metropole Orkest geeft gemiddeld veertig concerten per seizoen op podia in geheel Nederland, is te horen op het merendeel van de platforms van de publieke omroep en is vaste gast op het Holland Festival en festivals als North Sea Jazz en The Hague Jazz. Sinds 2005 is vijfvoudig Grammy-winnaar Vince Mendoza chef-dirigent van het orkest. Jules Buckley is sinds het seizoen 2008-2009 vaste gastdirigent.Het Metropole Orkest werd in 1945 opgericht met als doel om jazz en pop op hoog niveau uit te voeren. Daarvoor werden musici uit geheel Europa gerekruteerd en werd een fris en uitdagend muzikaal concept ontwikkeld. In de afgelopen 65 jaar produceerde het Metropole Orkest meer dan 150 albums en werkte het mee aan duizenden radio- en tv-uitzendingen. Het orkest speelde met grootheden uit jazz, wereldmuziek en pop, onder wie Vicente Amigo, Brian Eno, Ella Fitzgerald, Stan Getz, Astrud Gilberto, Dizzy Gillespie, Hank Jones, Pat Metheny, The Swingle Singers, Gino Vannelli, Steve Vai, Dino Saluzzi, Sezen Aksu, Within Temptation, Antony & The Johnsons, C-mon & Kypski en Moke. Het Metropole Orkest werd geleid door achtereenvolgens Dolf van der Linden, Rogier van Otterloo en Dick Bakker en won onder meer een Gouden Harp en een Zilveren Reiss Microfoon.
