I led and managed the strategic growth, profit and loss, and capture of market share in the federal government security industry for eight limited liability law enforcement and security companies with 2,000 employees operating in forty-one states and two countries. During my tenure, I created $450 million in work backlog, tripled annual revenue from $47 million to $150 million, and more than quadrupled earnings from $2 million to $10 million. All this was accomplished by leading company teams that won several hundred-million-dollar, multi-year, federal contracts. -
Colonel, RetiredU.S. Army Jun 1977 - Mar 2003Arlington, Virginia, UsI served in the U.S. Army for just under 26 years, achieving the rank of Colonel, and I worked in three distinct professional fields: law enforcement and corrections, congressional relations, and resource management. In the law enforcement field, I commanded military police units at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. My last command assignment was at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as the Commander of the 16th Military Police Brigade (Airborne), the only U.S. Army military police paratrooper unit. This command included 3,200 personnel assigned to five military police battalions at separate geographic locations east of the Mississippi River. I also served as Fort Braggโs Director of Public Safety and led all law enforcement, firefighting, safety, and security activities for an installation of 45,000 people. I retired from the Army as the Programs Division Chief in the Armyโs Legislative Liaison Office where I supervised fifteen legislative liaisons in Army activities with the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate. Additionally, I served on the Joint Staff as the Deputy Legislative Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. My portfolio included legislative activities with the Senate, where I handled all nominations before the Senate Armed Services Committee for the commanders of the unified and combatant commands. My other key assignments in the Army were as a financial resource manager for the Defense Attachรฉ Program, in the Office of the Comptroller, Defense Intelligence Agency where I managed a $120 million budget for 98 Defense Attachรฉ Offices throughout the world; and as a human resource manager for Army colonels where I managed their distribution Army-wide. I'm a veteran of both Operations Just Cause and Desert Shield and Storm Campaigns.
