I started in Audio when I was younger. Through my teen years I played Bass Guitar and developed a love for music and production. Typical to most kids my age with the same interests, I would strike shows on weekends with production companies and then ended up going to school for Audio Recording Engineering. From there I started working at TOA Canada Corp. and really sharpened my professional focus, while integrating that with my troubleshooting abilities.During this time, I took a few years off from TOA to travel full-time as a musician. We traveled all over North America, signed record deals, management deals, booking agents, all the stuff a musician dreams about when they are young. As with most dreams of stardom, it eventually fizzled out and I came back to TOA for a number of years within the same position. From here I went to Sharp's Audio Visual where I added to my audio knowledge by learning video and control systems and thus greatly expanding my possibilities as a Designer. At Sharp's Audio Visual I was designing A/V systems on a team of around 8-10 design engineers across the country, which met via VC once a week. My family and I decided after much consideration to move back to the Hamilton area I tackled the role of "System Design Coordinator" for MacLean Media Systems. MacLean was, and still is an EXCELLENT organization. As the Design Coordinator it was my responsibility to take a conceptual product list and flush out the detailed bits such as racking, mounts, cabling, etc. and documenting it all for a proper build. Once that BOM was complete I then began the site documentation and made sure that design came to life on the job-site where customer confidence was the main objective. Keeping a team of various project personnel moving in the same direction towards a common goal is as much an art as it about technology.After a few years with this team it was time for a fresh challenge where I took up the Senior Designer Role at sparkAV. It was at sparkAV where my knowledge was expanded into the software realms behind many of the day-to-day operations of the leading corporate organizations of today. Working hand-in-hand with Organizations such as Microsoft and Lenovo to push the boundaries of modern UC. At this point in my career I'd really like to redirect my attention to my original passions with a focus on PA, theatre design, and expanding my knowledge into aspects like Lighting control, and projection technology.
