As an editorial leader at this expanding personal-finance start-up site, I recruited and managed a growing team of journalists to boost the quality and output of news-driven advisory content, and launched content partnerships with Yahoo.com, CBS MoneyWatch, and more. I also sharpened the site's editorial brand, including creating data studies on affordability and everyday spending that were widely picked up, including a global affordability comparison for Starbucks latte that was picked up by 600 publications around the world.

As the magazine's first dedicated Electronics Editor, developed and implemented a content strategy for electronics content on the magazine's fast-growing subscription website, while also shepherding the creatiion of long-form stories for the iconic print magazine and a new female-focused title, ShopSmart. I managed a team of six writers and editors, plus a stable of freelancers.I also worked across the organization to drive change. Contributions included revamping the product-review process to be faster and better aligned with the needs of online readers. I also helped position Consumer Reports as a key player on technology issues through scores of TV, video, and radio appearances. I led the editorial efforts for "Antennagate," in which unique test findings on the iPhone 4's flawed reception became 2010's biggest tech news story and the biggest on any topic in Consumer Reports' history.

After serving as Editor-in-Chief of Canadian Consumer magazine, I was hired by Consumer Reports in 1993. After an initial stint as an Assistant Managing Editor, I took on this role, which involved working with a testing counterpart to re-engineer and manage the transformation of the magazine's print-first editorial process to one that was increasingly web-first, to serve the then-burgeoning ConsumerReports.Org. The result was faster publication that, among other innovations, rolled new products into existing rankings one-by-one, rather than rating them in batches.
