Lead Consultant
Host Of Resiliencemn Podcast
ResilienceMN is a 13 episode mini-series that I designed for the Veteran Resilience Project as one piece of a larger community outreach, marketing communications strategy. The problem hindering VRP from getting funding, had a lot to do with the public's deference to the VA. This restricted VRP because of the VA reluctance to use EMDR therapy, thus causing funding sources to back away from VRP after getting the VA's opinion on EMDR. The podcast documented the incredible journeys of veteran clients from near death in many cases to overcoming PTS. It also told the story of who VRP is and what EMDR is, a powerful trauma therapy that is often attacked by practitioners of CPT and Exposure Therapy. This audio series/podcast provides a behind the scenes look into the heart of the veteran experience. VRP Executive Director, Army veteran, Paul Riedner spends time with veterans from across Minnesota, to hear their story and share it with the community. Going to war is a collective, community decision. The lessons from war should not stay locked inside individual veterans.

Director Of User Experience Research & Content Development
FamDoo was a mobile app startup designed to link family chores and character development exercises with the family's conventional allowance system. I was hired to research and develop educational content. I designed the user interface and in-app experience that leveraged best in class research on how to cultivate social and emotional growth in children. I had to translate this vision to the development team and manage quality assurance feedback from user tests.I created effective and original content for internal, external, blog and website communication vehicles.I also contributed to marketing efforts, strategy, and strove to integrate each part of the organization with a user-centered focus.
Director Of Digital Media
MN-ASAP is a 501c3 nonprofit. My involvement in public policy was directly related to my article, “Among Iraq war’s many losses: Trust” published in the Minneapolis Star Tribune in December of 2011. The problem facing Jack Nelson Pallmeyer, founder of MN-ASAP was the pressure that lawmakers were under to not be seen as ‘anti-military’ or ‘not supporting the troops’. I produced a documentary film to educate policy makers, elected officials, and constituents about how the marketing phrase “Support the Troops” was designed to deflect the public’s attention away from the real issue at hand, the true costs and consequences of war. The film was screened across the Midwest in independent film festivals. It helped transform a threat into an opportunity.
