Mar 2013 - Jul 2016

Epm Director

Clearline Group

Greater Chicago Area

My key account at the ClearLine Group was Estee Lauder in Long Island, New York. I won the project to build a financial reporting solution to improve their Financial Close process. The solution combines SAP and Oracle-Hyperion technologies to provide actual vs. plan, estimate, and prior year comparative reporting during the GL close period. I conceptualized and designed the solution. I also staffed the development team and managed the project. Additionally, I conducted UAT sessions in Malasia, the UK, and New York City as part of the effort to roll out the application globally.

Apr 2011 - Mar 2013

Epm Systems Manager

I was at the epicenter of one of the largest EPM development projects to date at that time. The EPM effort was part of Hospira’s Project Fuel which was a strategic move the reduce company costs and drive efficiencies. I focused on several areas:• I used my experience in the BI/EPM space to systematically and effectively move historic data and business logic from poorly documented legacy systems into a data warehouse. When our EPM systems went live, 2 legacy reporting systems that were difficult to maintain were finally sunsetted.• I built a strong relationship with the offshoring giant, Wipro. Together we re-designed Hospira’s Sales and Margin Essbase reporting application. Hospira is a Global company and this re-design reflects Hospira’s need to balance both the local needs of regional users with corporate reporting needs. Wipro and I were also focused on an Essbase Management Reporting application that will provide more performance and better data diversity than Hospira’s current Management Reporting solution. I have worked with Wipro on a daily basis, traveled to Delhi to work with them there, and I have learned how to effectively leverage their Hyperion based support and development organizations.• I played a key role in moving Hospira’s EPM applications to Secure-24, an Enterprise Managed Application Hosting provider, which has a Hyperion infrastructure team with the experience required to maintain Hospira’s EPM applications from an infrastructure point of view. • I was the EPM architect and vendor manager bringing together the efforts of EPM teams from Emerging Solutions (HFM), Marketsphere (Hyperion Planning), and Wipro (Essbase/EPMA); a data warehousing team from Intelligroup; business analysts from various vendors; and Secure-24’s Hyperion infrastructure team. My job was to balance the often conflicting needs of the individual vendors with the overall goals of the EPM project.

Aug 2009 - Apr 2011

Hyperion Planning Contractor

I was the Senior Hyperion Planning Developer for a Innovative Research and Development Project Planning application. I built 2 cubes (labor expense & project expenses), designed outline formulas, automated the dimension build process, automated the data load process from multiple sources, wrote complex interactive planning business rules, and built sophisticated planning forms. I also heavily participated in UAT and the application hand off to Teva resources.

May 2009 - Aug 2009

Software Development Project Manager/Architect

I spent 4 years as the Project Manager and Architect for a software start up initiative within the Palladium Group Inc. My focus was on building a sophisticated retail planning software product, Pace, that became an important part of Oracle’s go to market Hyperion retail planning solution. As a project manager I ensured predictable release cycles and quality GA releases that achieved corporate and department strategic goals. My responsibilities included developing project plans, monitoring milestones, making scoping decisions, reporting the project status, and leading iteration meetings. I also work regularly with customers and implementation teams to ensure successful client engagements implementing the Pace product. Additionally, I lead the software QA effort for several product releases. As an architect, I was a key participant in the requirements gathering process, I architected more complex product features, and I lead feature development teams through the development phase. My key contributions to the Pace product were the Excel client developed in VSTO and C#, view rendering and SOAP layer development on the Java application server layer, data access via the Essbase Java API, and Active Directory authentication functionality via JNDI. Additionally, I developed an API prototype for the Pace client. I also joined several Pace implementation teams. I was the Data Architect for a Pace Merchandise Planning effort at AAFES, the Army and Air Force Exchange Force.
