I was responsible for the enterprise design and implementation from in ground sensors right up to and including the Company hosted Web servers and presentation of data to our users. This included designing custom radio protocols for our requirements. These protocols were unique to the project and can keep the radio alive for up to 7 years on a 3.6V/2Ah battery.In addition to radio communications I also designed and implemented a gamechanger firmware stack around taking magnetic readings at a power consumption achieving results using only 10% of the power that the manufacturer of the part says we need.Both of these ultra low power developments led to a small product that was approx 45mm in diameter and 70mm long that is buried in the ground and measures all vehicle movements above it as well as maitaining a radio for 7 years.
