As the first hire and founding team member at littleBits, my role evolved from designing circuits and overseeing manufacturing to leading cross-functional teams in product development and innovation that span hardware and software experiences. With my contributions in product & brand strategy, as well as team building & leadership, the company grew from 2 people to more than 110, raising over $60 million dollars, winning over 150 awards, establishing itself as a leader in the market of STEM tools, and creating the category of electronic building block platforms, all in a little over 5 years.• Lead multiple product development projects managing cross-functional teams of upwards of 6 people across hardware + software engineers, industrial designers, and product designers. Products developed became flagship products including the Gizmos and Gadgets Kit and The Code Kit, littleBits’ latest education product. • Created concepts and interface designs for more that 70 electronic modules including integrations with audio, WiFi, BLE, and coding. • Established hardware design guidelines that are used across the entire development team.• Lead and contributed to multiple strategic partnership developments including ones with NASA, KORG, Arduino, IFTTT, Google, and Disney. • Regular participation in public speaking and press engagements including keynotes, interviews (written, radio, and video), panel discussions, and workshops in venues all over the world.
