After 27 years working in media & advertising and a brief attempt at retirement, my primary role now is a Founding Partner of Confido Collective, a communications agency providing media & creative solutions for the pharma & healthcare industry.I also work as:• Strategic Advisor, Plug Media: fast-growing, sustainability-first programmatic advertising business.• Co-founder, ImNotOK: not-for-profit company supporting the mental wellbeing of people in the advertising industry.• Board Advisor, Purpose Disruptors: helping to create an advertising industry that is in harmony with the natural world.• Investor Director, CHX Distillers: makers of Altitude Gin, Esprit des Montagnes. Based in Chamonix.Elsewhere, I do pro-bono work supporting causes I care about:• Trustee, Tommy’s: the pregnancy & baby loss charity.• Board Director, LLHM Ltd: organisers of the world’s best half marathon (the London Landmarks Half Marathon, obviously)• Volunteer, The Hands Up Project: supporting teachers in Palestine to help amazing Palestinian children improve their English language skills. It’s ok to disagree but not to be disagreeable.AWAY FROM WORK:These days, mostly walking with my dog on the North Downs, watching sport (cricket, football & golf), playing golf, and an occasional pint in country pubs.In the past (2007-17) I competed in some of the world’s most iconic endurance races, including Spartathlon, Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, Grand Union Canal Race, Sahara Race, Nepal Race, South Downs 100, Thames Path 100, The Oner & the Self-Transcendence 24hr Track Race at Tooting Bec. Every race & training run taught me something new about self-reliance, resilience, and self-discipline. Most importantly, I made lots of friends. One day I may write a book about it.There were many highlights, but if I had to pick one, then being a member of the British Spartathlon team in 2015 & finishing the 153-mile run from Athens to Sparti in 34hr 52 min would be it.
