I am passionate about merging engineering and scientific innovation to create robust, field-ready instruments that deepen our understanding of complex physical systems. This synergy of engineering and science enhances measurement capabilities and enables exploration of new environments and parameters.Currently, I am a manager for diagnostics development at General Atomics, where I lead a team of scientists and engineers focused on advancing diagnostic systems for the fusion industry and expanding their use in emerging fields. I enjoy management because it allows me to leverage soft skills to further technological progress, develop my staff to their fullest potential, and allocate resources optimally to accomplish larger-scale projects. Management also offers a perspective on how our work and our technical directions fit into the larger goals of the company. My responsibilities include managing project execution, leading proposal generation, and overseeing internal R&D efforts.Before my current role, I worked on the Thomson Scattering team at General Atomics, specializing in high-energy NdYAG laser systems, complex beam-line setups, and data analysis. Prior to General Atomics, I was a National Research Council postdoctoral research scientist at NOAA Boulder, where I worked on lidar instrumentation and wildfire dynamics, miniaturizing and deploying Doppler lidar systems across various measurement campaigns.I earned my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from CU Boulder, where I studied high-temperature dual frequency comb spectroscopy under Dr. Gregory Rieker, focusing on lineshape physics and field applications in combustion diagnostics.
