I have spent over 25 years in the legal field helping landlords with problem tenants. In 1999, I set up Landlord Action specialising in fixed-fee property recovery and tenant eviction in England and Wales. Regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. I also sit on the Advisory Council for The Property Redress Scheme and in 2016 became a Brand Ambassador for Hamilton Fraser.I believe passionately in the individual rights of Landlords, Letting Agents and Tenants and in the importance of continually improving standards throughout the private rented sector. I gave evidence to a cross-party Parliamentary Group on retaliation evictions as part of The Deregulation Act 2015. I also wrote a book with Kate Faulkner in 2015 called the 'Landlords Friend' in 2015, this year 2018 I will be reading an updated edition, with all the changes in the Private Rental Sector. I have finished co-writing with Kate an updated 2018 Edition of the Landlords Friend which will come out later this year!I have worked on a number of productions including: BBC’s Breakfast, War at the Door, Meet The Landlords, Inside Out, BBC News 24 and The One Show, ITV’s Tenants From Hell, Channel 4 News and appearing on Channel Five’s hit series ‘Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords’ (2015, 2016, 2017). This year 2018 I have filmed 'Bad Tenants, Rogue Landlords, which is currently being aired on Channel Five. I also co-hosted the ‘The Property Hour’ with Clive Bull on LBC Radio. I am always working with the Press/Media in respect of the Private Rented Sector.

Advisory Council MemberThe Property Redress Scheme Jul 2014 - PresentBorehamwood, Herts, GbThe Property Redress Scheme (PRS) is a Government approved lettings and property management and estate agent redress scheme (often known as a property ombudsman). It is essentially a mechanism for enabling a third party to deal with consumer complaints on behalf of customers (tenants, leaseholders, landlords and also property buyers and sellers) of the lettings and property management and estate agents. It will be compulsory by the end of 2014 for all lettings and property management agents to be a member of an approved scheme in order to operate. It is already a legal requirement for estate agents. The scheme is underpinned by two key legislative provisions (Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 and Consumers, Estate Agents and Redress Act 2007) and applies to England for lettings and property management and the UK for estate agents. Complaints will be dealt with on three levels: Help and advice for the member to resolve the complaint themselves; formal meditation and facilitation with the parties to agree a binding settlement; formal adjudication and arbitration with a binding award on the member up to £25,000 where appropriate. The Property Redress Scheme can be contacted at www.theprs.co.uk, info@theprs.co.uk, @PropertyRedress and by telephone - 0333 321 9418. My role on the Advisory Council is to offer advice and guidance to the scheme, update the Head of Redress (Ombudsman) on issues that are facing the industry and also to assist and make decisions on appeals from members of the scheme, specifically with regard to their conduct and membership. I will be offering impartial and balanced counsel along with the other Advisory Council members who currently include Tessa Shepperson, Richard Price and Lord Munroe Palmer of Childs Hill.
