General management and supervision of programs responsible for responding to the full range of environmental health hazards in the city of Boston including lead poisoning, toxic chemical exposures, occupational hazards, and climate change. Responsible for budget oversight, productivity evaluation, strategic direction setting and new project development, grant applications and relationships with funders, and interface with other government agencies. Built and oversee the award winning (NACCHO Model Practice, EPA Environmental Merit Award, MA State Senate and Toxic Use Reduction Institute recognition) Safe Shops Program. Supervise permitting and regulatory inspection of select industries in Boston including marijuana dispensaries, asbestos abatement projects, body art (tattooing and piercing) establishments and artists, tanning salons, nail salons, solid waste and recycling businesses, and private wells.

Supervised 5 full-time staff positions and various temporary and internship positions. Supervised and administered permitting process for asbestos removal work in Boston including budget tracking, monitoring contractor compliance, and supervising processing of applications. Managed the Safe Shops Project including budget oversight, reporting to funding agencies, supervising the work of project staff, coordinating with community partners, setting program direction/vision, and seeking additional funding for expansion. Managed special projects including Boston CleanAir Cabs initiative and work on climate protection/energy conservation efforts. Designed and produced environmental health educational materials. Write grant proposals to federal, state, and non-profit funding agencies to support program activities – responsible for securing over $2 million in grant funding.

New England Privateers is a small private company dedicated to organizing and running hobby gaming (board games, miniatures games, role playing games, etc.) events in the New England area. The flagship event is the annual CaptainCon (www.captaincon.com) which takes place over three days every February bringing together hundreds of hobbyists for a long weekend of fun.Manage budget and accounting, web site and e-commerce maintenance, social media and customer support, event planning, and coordination of all the other people involved who help make the magic happen.
