I am a neuroscientist and biomedical engineer with both academic and industry experience. I am very interested in the intersection of neuroscience and modern computing, such as brain-machine interfacing, advanced prosthetics, and neuro-nanotechnology. My PhD work examined the structure of neurons in the mouse auditory brainstem, reconstructing them from electron microscopy image stacks in order to understand how connections in the brain develop. My training as a biomedical engineer puts me in a unique position of being able to communicate across disciplines, bridging the sometimes inhibiting divide between traditional neuroscience research and engineering. I pride myself on being an incredibly fast learner, and on my ability to synthesize work from multiple areas of research to find unique solutions to research problems.
