Fire and Gas Instrumentation Engineer on the KEP2010 upgrade project for StatoilHydro at Kartso, Norway.Part of the Fire and Gas Instrumentation Team for MWKL. Responsibilities include:• Production of Fire & Gas instrumentation datasheets, using Smartplant Instrumentation (Intools V7). Liaison with vendors to acquire accurate information. • Completion of existing Fire and Gas instrument documentation. This involves querying various databases (Smartplant & AIM) to collate what instrumentation is currently on site. This information is then used to produce demolition packs and accurate I/O counts for migration. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel was required to maintain accurate lists of I/O.• Participation in Factory Acceptance Testing in accordance with Project guidelines.• Project Responsible Engineer for the inquiry and purchase requisition documents for solenoid valves. • Technical bid adjudications of requisition documents. This includes formulating the bid evaluation summary and submitting to procurement for purchasing.• Various detail design documentation including Safety Requirement Specifications documents, Material Take-offs, Project Deviation Notices.• Obtained British Safety Council Level 1 Certificate, CCNSG – Client/Contractor National Safety Group Safety Passport.• Attended Practical Fieldbus/Devicenet and Ethernet for Industry, Use and Understanding of Foundation Fieldbus – Run by IDC Technologies and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and SCADA Systems. – 3 month Course run by IDC Technologies.

Process Control Group on a grassroots LNG plant for the Yemen Ministry of Oil & Gas, Yemen.• Part of the Process Control Department on the YEMEN LNG Project. • Responsibilities included:• Reviewing and editing Cause and Effect diagrams, which involved updating the client’s comments and any changes made by engineering.• Updating P&ID’s, as and when the cause and effect diagrams were updated. This ensured that the relevant P&ID’s were marked up accordingly.• Reviewed boiler control philosophy and general package philosophies, under senior supervision.• Involvement with both instrument, electrical and process departments in order to ensure that the client comments and changes were correctly incorporated.• Courses completed during project include:• Introduction to IET Wiring Regulations - hosted internally by Senior Engineers.• Control Valve Course - hosted by Emerson Process in Cernay, France.

Bitumen Pilot PlantCandidate Instrumentation Engineer for KBR on a project for a Bitumen Pilot Plant at ENGEN Refineries in Durban.Responsibilities included technical queries concerning the Electrical and Instrumentation design for a pilot plant in Durban, South Africa for ENGEN Refineries. Responsible for overseeing the Factory Acceptance Tests for the various pieces of equipment ordered. Attended and passed a course on Design and Installation of Intrinsically Safe Systems.Project TURBOInstrumentation Quantity Surveyor for KBR’s Project TURBO at Sasol, Secunda. The new unit used KBR’s Superflex technology to meet government fuel regulations.Enrolled on the Graduate Training Programme within KBR. Initially involved in producing Racking and Lighting Layout Designs for current project and played a leading role in Technical Adjudications and the design of Instrumentation Location Layouts. Was seconded to Project Turbo at SASOL, Secunda, South Africa as an Instrumentation Quantity Surveyor as part of the Graduate training Programme. Acted as Supervisor for Q-trax (the Progress tracking Software), producing weekly reports for management and interpreting the database information. Took over the Mechanical and Electrical progress reporting. Regularly accompanied the Electrical Engineer and Instrumentation Engineer on their daily duties and commissioning activities. Took the initiative to produce summaries of the raw data assisting management in planning. Microsoft Excel was extensively used. Substantial experience gained in Project Controls and Sub-Contractor management. This was achieved by accompanying the Sub-Contracts manager to various meetings and being involved in the problem solving discussions.
