It Manager Europe
St. Louis, Mo, Us
Based in London, Working as the IT Manager, I led a technically strong IT Team based across 13 European offices, all of which fell under Sarbanes-Oxley compliancy rules. This role involved preparing budgets, purchasing equipment, interviewing candidates, leading European projects and dealing with day to day support calls. As well as dealing with European issues, I also supported Fleishman Hillard’s servers globally out of local office hours. I would travel to each European office twice per year to make recommendations, perform an annual audit and to offer assistance to local support staff. Main Software Used: Microsoft Office 2003-2007, Windows XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003, Cisco VPN, VMware, Altiris, Symantec Antivirus – all based on Dell Hardware.Within this position I have worked on the following projects:• Altiris Deployment Server – The deployment of Altiris Server to all European offices. This project was geared towards reducing the amount of time spent re-building machines. Altiris, similar to Ghost, allowed support staff to build and deploy machines within 30 minutes. • Standardisation – In conjunction with Altiris Project, we undertook to standardise the machines across Europe.• Moscow Office Integration – Due to a new business acquisition, I worked with the Moscow office to bring them in line with FH standards. This involved replacing old hardware, establishing an internal network and bringing the office online through a VPN router and SDSL connection. • Service Continuity – A push, through training, to increase awareness and the use of the global VPN service. This contributed to the provision of service continuity throughtout the organisation. • EDC eMail Consolidation – Involved in the email consolidation project to remove local office exchange servers and migrate to a datacenter based in London Docklands.
