The company operated 32 sporting goods stores in 15 states, offering outdoor and athletic equipment, apparel, and accessories under brand names and private labels. During my tenure, sales increased from $50- $650 million+. Galyan's was purchased by Dick's Sporting Goods in early 2003.Directed all elements of Galyan's CRM initiative including software discovery and selection, hardware discovery and selection, staffing, program development and launch, vendor procurement, creative execution, data integrity, results analysis and chain-wide roll-out of Galyan's Preferred Customer Program. Also responsible for web site development and for directing all outside ad agencies and market research firms. In year one, average response rate was over 8%, paying for the entire initiative two years ahead of schedule.Created and launched Galyans.com.Implemented extensive qualitative and quantitative market research activities culminating in the re-launch of Galyan's brand nationwide.Managed a $14.0 million budget and a 14 member marketing staff. Responsible for all creative, PR, Community Relations, production, media buying, budget development, ad plans, and market research.Wrote and produced award winning television and radio advertisements.
