Interfaced with the department's librarian/PCB lead to plot the best course of action for creating the desired library. Transitioned from a traditional file-based symbol centric library to a database library, allowing the rapid reuse of schematic symbols and footprints.Modified Eagle scripts to import symbols and footprints to Altium Designer, thus salvaging years of graphic work that the librarian had developed.Instructed on the use of database libraries in preparation of their transition to a new PLM.Imported and established templates for the schematic and PCB layout sheets from Eagle.Provided support for immediate issues as the team transitioned from Eagle to Altium Designer

Developed component library methodology for department's transfer from P-CAD to Altium Designer which includes the automation of several design processes traditionally performed by hand. Reduced cable component creation time from 2-4 hours to 10-30 minutes. Cable drawing times reduced from several days to several hours (depending upon the complexity of the cable.) Developed methodology for handling cabling and harnessing via Altuim Design's schematic capture tool. Developed the methodology and library for cable components to allow for future reuse. First known cable library with intelligent data to have been created in Altium Designer.Developed processes and documentation to streamline the flow of components into the central libraries from the designers. Includes a tight integration of description parameters, compliance data for purchasing, and electrical information for the engineers.Established and supported the version control (SVN) for the GEN 5 project team.Provide in-house support and training on the Altium Designer tool suite, as requested.
