About Paul Burgess

I am a social impact leader with over 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and advancing complex development programs across the globe. As the Executive Director of Fourth Plain Forward, I lead a place-based organization that accelerates equity for a diverse and vibrant community in central Vancouver. My passion is to promote and support local communities to drive positive social change, leveraging my extensive knowledge of nonprofit management, operationalizing startups, capacity building and strategic development. I founded CDV Global, an international consultancy that provided impactful capacity building interventions for local NGOs in six countries. I have also managed international development programs in the Global South for Raleigh International, achieving strategic rollout of over 60 volunteer projects. With a strong intercultural competence and a background in operational management in the UK Civil Service, I have comprehensive leadership expertise in cross-functional implementation, delivery, and management. I am continuously inspired by the incredible people and cultures I have encountered, learned from, and shared experiences with.
