Was the assistant head of department for the Combat Systems Engineering department consisting of 60 sailors, who were responsible for maintaining millions of dollars’ worth of equipment. Assisted with the departmental budget. Responsible for producing the operational deficiency reports that were pivotal in the acquisition of replacement components. Additionally, writing spreadsheet software that would allow for the ship to have a 100% accurate picture in various presentation formats of the current state of equipment 24 hours a day, from any terminal onboard. This effectively saved hundreds of man hours in only a few months.Regularly held leadership positions at Royal Military College that allowed for excellent learning opportunities and for development of a versatile leadership style. Furthermore, I led the Master Seaman and below of the Combat Systems Engineering Department as their divisional officer while managing 6 Junior engineering officers during their at sea training phase. Upgraded training curriculum and methods of instruction and set a high standard to ensure maximum probability of success and resulted in significant cost savings as members complete their training ahead of schedule. Spent a three years training to become a Head of Department as a Combat Systems Engineer. Spent two of those years learning the theory of all the departments’ equipment: RADAR, COMMS, SONAR, Naval weapons, Command and Control Systems, and Electronic Warfare. The last year was spent learning the divisional and technical standard needed to act as Head of Department. Spending over a month acting as head of department. Additionally, I received training in project management and development for military projects. I also instructed pre-calculus Mathematics to Junior technicians, resulting in subordinates’ excelling in all evaluated areas.
