Web Explorations was established by Peter Johnson (South Central College faculty) to assist organizations by "Expanding educational horizons with the Web." I am part of a talented team of consultants available.

Responsible for establishing and leading student service projects in support of Minnesota Online and Academic Innovations. A number of these projects are highlighted my online portfolio at www.paulwasko.efoliomn.com. Recent projects would include:- eFolioMinnesota: this award winning effort provided an electronic portfolio infrastructure for the Minnesota;- GPS LifePlan partnership: an award-winning student success effort that is now being deployed around the state;- SMARTHINKING: management of the master contract that provided online tutoring services for the System;- LifeOnline (partnership with Peter Johnson SCC): innovative effort to deploy an orientation to online learning.Other notable projects and efforts include:- CENTSS: Center for Transforming Student Services;- eLearning/eFolio Summit: statewide effort bringing together "e" best (or most promising) practices from Minnesota's K-20 community;- eStudent Services and Tutoring work groups: Systemwide efforts focused on best and most promising student affairs practices;- eFolioWorld: commercialization of eFolioMinnesota operations for non-Minnesota education organizations;- Minnesota Learning Commons: a joint powers organization with the University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Education, and the Minnesota State colleges and Universities.Supervisory responsibilities included:- DARS/CAS (now u.Select) team: a talented team of individuals responsible for day-to-day operations;- Inter-agency staff: project-based staff, this included supervision of our eFolio instructional designer Lynne Groves (faculty South Central College).

Responsible for overseeing daily operations of multiple web properties including: iseek.org, mnvu.org, and crs.iseek.org. Additional duties included co-management of the joint powers organization, contract negotiations, budget, and policy directions. Responsible for launching and co-chairing the first digital education summit in the state.

Responsible for development and implementation of education technology policy initiatives for the State of Minnesota. Developed, wrote, and represented the Governor's 1996 $150 million education technology budget to the State Legislature; this bill represented the largest education technology investment in the state's history. Developed $15 million worth of public-private partnerships for Minnesota Schools. Represented the Office on various statewide projects and councils.

Held various project and administrative leadership positions within the Department including Workforce Preparation Division CIO.

Chief of Staff to Senator Mike Freeman who was the Deputy Chair of the Senate Finance Committee.
