Current• Personify Health - formerly Virgin Pulse part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group - is a healthcare and wellness platform that prevents employee health issues by supporting employees along their day to day health journeys and offering incentives for positive health behaviors. This is done via personal coaching and via a iOS/Android/Web app that leverages fitness devices (e.g. Fitbit). • Platform is built on AWS and leverages several features including Aurora PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, SNS/SQS, etc. It also leverages Salesforce Health Cloud as CRM for health data, Kafka/Kstreams for streaming data, Cloudflare for CDN, New Relic for run-time observability, Harness for CI/CD, Gitlab for GitOps, Kubernetes, Docker, Liquibase/Flyway for DB, etc. • Manage software engineering teams of 25+ engineers and quality testers in 5+ locations. • Teams federated all person data to a “person-centric data model” via one consistent set of APIs/Kafka streams and store person data in Salesforce Healthcloud CRM for coaching. • Built a medical claims billing system based on X12 Insurance and HL7/FHIR for billing Virgin Pulse services • Process/analyze medical insurance claims data to identify gaps in healthcare, make recommendations for closing gaps, and reward for closing gaps, • Engineered iOS/Android native mobile apps and Angular Web UI that implement the front-end for Members to manage care gaps and the business for managing business logic. • In addition to managing my engineering teams, I identify and drive forward improvements to organization/process/technologies such as: ◦ Created a re-usable rules platform that allows business users to control business logic from a web UI ◦ Spearheaded CI/CD process improvements resulting in faster feature turn-around and fewer deployment issues ◦ Scaled Agile Framework/SAFe adoption ◦ Drove adoption of SonarQube static code analysis to improve code quality
