Led project, public-private partnership, and revenue development for FastOx® gasification waste-to-renewable-energy systems.+ Led project development to build company's second conversion plant, a forest residual biomass-to-electricity system; secured $5M grant from CA Energy Commission, biomass suppliers and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) off-taker+ Led project plan and partner development to build and test hydrogen switcher locomotive for sister company, Sierra Northern Railway; based on this plan, team awarded $15M+ to build 4 H2 locomotives

Managed Institute’s largest public-private research consortium on alternative fuels and vehicles.+ Co-wrote and won $4M in grants from CA Energy Commission to research emerging technologies and transitions for alternative fuel and vehicle deployments (electricity, hydrogen, biofuels, renewable natural gas) + Grew annual revenue by $2M and sponsorships from 5 to 28 major auto OEM, oil and gas, utility, and federal/state entities+ Managed $3M annual budget, 20 contracts, and 40 member team of interdisciplinary PhD faculty and researchers, staff, and graduate students

Published “Global Lithium Availability” thesis in Journal of Industrial Ecology, with interdisciplinary team of U-M faculty and Ford Motor Company environmental technology experts; work was featured in The New York Times and led to subsequent peer-reviewed publications.

Led business strategy for novel battery management system, won $25k DTE Clean Energy start-up prize; work led to technology license from U-M (2011) to energy storage companies in Michigan (Spider9) and California (Pathion).

Co-wrote and won $35M ARRA/DOE grant for lithium-ion battery manufacturing client, who constructed and operated $72M battery materials plant on brownfield site in Battle Creek, MI.

Co-led start-up team and market development for point-of-use water purification technology; work led to new product with over 60,000 units sold in Mexico, benefitting half a million residents.

Led MBA team to analyze economic, regulatory, and social factors influencing water management practices in apparel factories in Guangdong province; results recognized by Fortune 500 clients

Led individual donor and grant fundraising to support farmer training programs; secured $240k in funding from World Bank, Google, and foundations, increasing annual revenue by 20%.

Led primary/secondary competitive analysis research for Fortune 500 print media, telecommunications, online research, and business information services clients.
