About Paul Whang (황수)

Hello. Welcome to my profile. If you are reading this, for all intents and purposes, you are doing so on a planet that is fundamentally different from the one you were born on. And what has been done, sadly, cannot be undone, at least not in the near future. We are at a critical juncture in our lives. We have to accept that we are all going to have to buckle down for the long haul. Responding to this climate crisis is going to have to become part of who we are. All the time. Once you understand that, you understand that this is not about climate 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 at all. It is about climate 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵. Climate commitment is a framework. It is asking yourself: 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵? And always next.A global pandemic, economic shocks, global supply chain breakdowns, an escalating climate crisis that is bringing record heat, flooding, and fires—no one on Earth can escape these mutual realities. Our interdependence is clear. Although in the meantime that means shared suffering, it also means that shared solutions can be our greatest hope and our greatest strength. Capitalistic values have promoted individualistic mindsets and made us believe our resources are finite and competitive. But that does not have to be our reality. We have the power to tap into abundance and collaboration. It is our collective responsibility to envision and create the world we want together. We need bold, sustainable solutions that benefit many, not just the few. It is important to accept that not a single sector can solve climate change alone, whether government, media, civil society, or industry. It is about solutions created through collaboration with the people around you, the willingness to learn from others' experiences and, in return, to share what you have learned. Do you value the nurture of a regenerative, healthy, and equitable planet? It takes courage to challenge old ways and build a better future. Let us work together to challenge and reimagine the status quo. The right time to start your climate commitment is always right now. Thanks for stopping by. If any of my experiences shown below and apparent passions on the climate pique your interest, do not hesitate to reach out and I would be happy to chat over a cup of coffee or tea in person or virtually.*Views expressed are my own and do not represent the views of the City of Lancaster and Lancaster Energy*
