A community development worker operated as part of the Community Learning and Development Team, working closely with all Community Use of School facilities across Fife to promote and develop learning opportunities.The principle objective was to support the development of a sustainable regional network of learndirect branded Community Use Centres. This was achieved by working closely with Community Use Schools across Fife Council and with learndirect Scotland and ILA Scotland to develop a wide range of courses eligible for Individual Learning Accounts.On a day-to-day basis, the Development Worker (CUS) was the key contact for Community Use staff within Fife Council. Regularly monitoring the range of services that learndirect Scotland offer. As support for the network develops, playing a crucial role in development, training, awareness-raising and customer care within the area of responsibility, helping centres to respond to local needs in the context of the lifelong learning agenda and Community Learning plans.
