Primary administrator of all Oracle database instances being utilised by the Group's applications. This primarily constituted the central Lawson ERP database (AIX 6.1, 11g) which, being highly customised and integrated with the majority of other Group systems within Mott MacDonald, was the focus of a dedicated PL/SQL development team. With comparable importance to the business, a global LiveLink document management system (Redhat 5.3 / 10g RAC), with multiple regionalised clustered databases. My responsibility spanned some 10 production databases (most running on NetApp filers over iSCSI and fibre with remote site replication), each with between 3 to 5 copies for purposes such as development, testing, DR, UAT and sandbox. Other roles included instigating automatic server maintenance and alerts; application tuning and performance monitoring; Oracle installations, upgrades and patching; assisting application upgrades; management for licensing of the estate; overseeing backups and automated O/S level file management; assisting, managing, reviewing and deploying developer code. Lead developer creating Crystal reports that entailed development of database stored procedures, views and functions to support other developers. [Oracle 9i, 10g, SQL, pl/SQL].In addition, I worked with a team to substantially customise the web-application through which reports were accessed, administered user security and managed report deployment among other matters. [Crystal Report v9: CSP, ASP; Business Objects v11: JSP]• Re-engineered an in-house application to synchronise centralized Outlook email accounts with those held on a disparate HR system. With over 10,000 accounts on Active Directory it greatly simplified maintenance tasks, and following its success, further development was requested to enable its compatibility with Mott’s American company, Hatch Mott MacDonald. [VB6]• Solely responsible for development of an integrated Outlook application that enabled employees to save single instances of project emails to a shared folder, thus providing a central repository for ease of access and archival. Voluntarily adopted by some 4000 users. [VB6, COM add-ins]• Development and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets acting as “offline form” applications (e.g. consultant timesheets; general ledger entries) for data capture preceding upload to the central Lawson database.
