Responsible for the delivery of front-to-back IT for all businesses operating in the Latin America Emerging Markets region: Debt, Equities and Transaction Banking. Ran a group of > 40 staff across the region consisting of programme managers, business analysts, project managers and developers. Managed business stakeholders and project governance with all groups for the region including project prioritisation, budgeting, benefit cases, resourcing, and project reporting. Accountable for a budget of 12 million EUR.•Restructured the technology organisation: created specialised teams for application support, project implementation and application development. At the same time built the team significantly to meet demand from the business and to resolve an over dependency on vendors for critical positions. •Implemented a structured SDLC framework for all projects where none previously existed and project discipline in the branches was weak. This increased professionalism and timeliness of project delivery.•Rolled out Deutsche Bank’s market leading e-Commerce platform, for the Brazil onshore FX market. Strict local regulations and a complex legacy back office platform created unique challenges in order to add this important currency to Deutsche Bank’s #1 FX offering.• Represented Latin America at regional regulatory forums with the region’s senior executives. Led regulatory deliveries for the region. These included deliveries to branches to comply with local country regulations as well as global regulations including Volcker and Dodd-Frank. • Instigated a current state analysis for the Brazil office, a particular problem branch where legacy systems were complex and highly tactical. Existing flows, application architecture, manual bottlenecks and areas of risk for the business were documented in detail. Utilised to identify areas of immediate IT investment and drove plans to deploy strategic firm wide systems for the future.

Responsible for the technology platform for Equity Emerging Markets, a global business with trading desks in London and New York, as well as offices in Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East. Managed a diverse, multi-cultural team of 40 staff across 11 countries consisting of business analysts, project managers, developers and production support. Ran IT project delivery for all facets of the business from front office to back office: cash trading, derivatives and prime services. Primary business contact for senior business heads to define and prioritise work.•On inheriting a set of disparate teams, built a coordinated, global team with new centralised project management and business analyst functions located in London and New York. Appointed key hires and retained high performing staff.•Implemented an IT strategy to enable the business to scale: identified the need to consolidate systems, reduce complexity and decrease dependency on local software vendors. Secured business buy-in, additional funding and led a programme to standardise systems across the Emerging Markets offices.•Partnered closely with Fidessa to deploy their cash trading platform to trading desks in Russia, South Africa, Turkey, Israel and Saudi Arabia: replaced standalone, local trading platforms with a single Fidessa platform with fully automated inter-entity flows between London and the Emerging Markets offices.•Worked closely with the Istanbul Stock Exchange to become the first international investment bank to market make warrants in Turkey. This resulted in yearly revenues of 15million EUR.

Equity Derivatives Data Services - Product Manager

Manager of a global team to implement Imagine (3rd party real-time risk, P&L and trade lifecycle system) across all locations into a single centrally managed global platform. Worked on site in Hong Kong (8 months), Tokyo (3 months), Sydney (1 month) and New York (6 months). Integration spanned all equities businesses: equity derivatives, index arbitrage, program trading and cash equities. Collaborated with all user groups: trading, trade support, controlling, credit, and settlements comprising > 300 users.•Business practices were different from location to location so worked with business heads to streamline and implement global standards for system use and booking procedures.•Managed the porting of all legacy system feeds to a single, global code base that could be easily maintained. These included real-time exchange feeds, website reporting, feeds to downstream settlement and reporting systems.•Implemented batch infrastructure that allowed for 24 x 6 use of the platform and supported a separate close of business for each region. Scheduled tasks included market price capture, end of day valuations and corporate action processing.•Partnered with Controlling to reengineer their legacy P&L generation process from one which was manually intensive and prone to error, to a scalable and easily supportable solution.•Hardware setup: coordinated Sun hardware specification, purchases, installation and configuration. Designed hardware setup for maximum resilience and business contingency in Singapore and New York.
