In the lab of Dr. Jessica Garb, we are interested in finding the gene sequence of dragline silk protein produced by Darwin's bark spider (Caerostris darwini). I screened cDNA libraries generated from mRNA isolated from the major ampullate gland, the gland that produces dragline silk, of Darwin's bark spider.

Assisted faculty member in developing course material geared towards high school students on the causes and effects of climate change. Participated in teaching this course a classroom of 15 high school students. Acted as science adviser for these students while they created media on what they have learned this summer.
